I’m about to…

have a beer?  (Gawd I could use one!)

Travel to Scottsdale to watch spring training?

Bake a batch of gooey triple chocolate brownies?

Nope.  I’m about to complete a short book of poetry.  How do you like those apples?  I did begin my writing career as a poet, so… but this is a stretch nonetheless.

I’m halfway through my revisions of the four-book Daughters of Persephone series, busy checking out cover art.

And then I’ll tackle my delicious contemporary Beauty and the Feast.  Can’t wait.  I’m going to try to create my own cover art for this one because I have a vision.

All right ladies and germs, this has been a crazy ass week, like a total emotional roller coaster ride.  Plus I dropped and broke an awful lot of glassware.  Like I said… emotional.

My grandmother always said, “When you drop a glass, you’ll hear from somebody.”  That’s not necessarily something I look forward to – makes me nervous.

Maybe you’ll hear from someone good!

You’re a poet! You need to chuck your entire wardrobe and get black leggings, black sweaters, scuffed-up keds, and a beret. And dark sunglasses. And never smile. Emo, baby!

Can’t wait to read your poems. I break glass every single week. That’s why I never buy anything too valuable. I know it won’t last.

Have a good, positive, happy day! :^)

Doesn’t it feel good to be doing what you love? That broken glass belongs in a poem.

  6. Thanks, Jaye. Off to finish up said work!

  7. Hi Casey, and thank you. I’m thinking I may bake some gooey brownies this afternoon after all!

  8. Kat, I love that photo – the shatter orb is so cool! Well, feels like home, that’s for sure.

  9. Yes, Penny, heading back to the future!

First~ Congratulations on the book of poetry! We all could probably use a bit of branching out, don’t you think? Spread our wings a bit?

Second~ Don’t step in the broken glass. Sweep it up, dump it in the trash and move on. Maybe buy a new glass in a more meaningful color or design. I always figure breaking something is the signal that I can try something new…

Third~ I suspect you’ll do a lovely job on the cover. You strike me as owning an artistic soul.

  12. Thanks, Anny. I think you’re right – breaking the glass means something new is coming.

  13. If you did have a beer hope it was a good one..LOL
