When I edit… I edit. There’s no stopping. I actually picked up supper tonight. Don’t usually do that. Plus Jake and I went for a two hour hike late this afternoon – until after sunset. It was sweet! And he’s being a lovely boy these days – really, I swear! Didn’t even snap at that vicious Teacup Chihuahua, Zini, when Zini attacked his toes. God almighty that little Zini is nasty.

The Artist and Is It Spicy? are FREE on Amazon through the 18th. Did I say FREE? Hmmm. Did I mention the books are FREE? The truth is I write to be read so please, go read! Should I remind you once more that the books are FREE? :)

I know I’ve scheduled my other free days too, just can’t remember the exact dates at this moment, aside from Incorporeal – Valentine’s Day, of course. I’m also hoping for a quick release of In the Flesh. Another round of edits to go.

Oh and I can’t miss The Big Bang Theory and Person of Interest.

And then it’s on to a serious topic. Red Bull.

To celebrate the upcoming release of In the Flesh, I have a brand new romantic look for book one of this two book series, Incorporeal – here’s a peek!

Sara Wise is sick of ghosts. They’ve haunted her since she was a child, destroying her family, endangering her life. When an incorporeal being appears in her shower, she curses him soundly and orders him out, but this ghost is sticky. Not only does he invade her shower, he moves into her home, invading her dreams, sharing her bed. The reluctant Sara finds herself falling in love with a dead man.
Despite Sara’s objections, Natan de Manua isn’t permitted to leave. Protecting the woman is both his penance and his means to redemption. She’s not easy to protect, she fights him nearly every step of the way, except in her bed. Nathan may have come to regain his soul, but instead he risks losing his heart.

Post game wrap-up.

So I watch the Superbowl for the ads AND the game. Gotta love the game. If only international conflicts were decided on the football field. Men could smash each other to their little hearts’ content, within the rules of the game. Yeah. Make football, not war.

There have been years when the ads were about a bazillion times better than the game. Not this year. I only enjoyed two and a half ads – the Chevy Mayan 2012 Apocalypse ad and the kid peeing in the pool ad – although I don’t have a clue what the kid was advertising. But the look of relief on his face was priceless. The half-ad I liked was the clip from the coming Avengers movie. Thor is such a freakin’ hottie and Tony Stark is so wonderfully snarky. Plus I’m a sucker for all things comic book. The movie will probably tank, but as long as I can look at Thor. Sigh. And who the heck is Scarlet Johansson playing? Oh, Black Widow. Meh.

Okay, got that outta the way. Now I must do some promo.

My friend, author Casey Wyatt, has a dynamite debut paranormal romance – Mystic Ink. This is a really good read.

And here’s some news for all you Bostonians…sorry about the Pats. Dimensions, a U.K. entry, is the closing film for the Boston Sci Fi Film Festival – Saturday, February 18th. This looks like a great film. Lucky you Boston dudes and dudettes. Here’s some info:

Dimensions is a 1920s/30s sci-fi drama and revolves around a scientist’s obsession with going back in time, to revisit a moment from his childhood. It stars Camilla Rutherford (Gosford Park, Rome) and Henry Lloyd-Hughes (Harry Potter and the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, The Inbetweeners). Dimensions premiered at the Cambridge Film Festival (UK) and outsold (per screen) the UK premieres of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Help and Midnight in Paris - not bad for a micro-budget, independent film, with only word-of-mouth (we can’t afford a fancy PR agency!).

Is it odd to like lasagna served over lettuce?

I know, it’s sick, right? I also like my Bolognese sauce served over ice cold lettuce instead of pasta. I enjoy the contrast between hot and bubbly and cold and crunchy. Plus I don’t like commercial pasta. To me it tastes about the same as cardboard. Now when hubby gets out his hand-crank pasta maker and makes his own pasta, I love it. Between the two of us, we make a mean wild mushroom lasagna. So now I’ll segue…

Jaye Manus, over at Must Love Fiction, is talking about romance. Well, she and I have been talking about romance. Go read. She liked my paranormal, Incorporeal, which is very cool. She brings up a good point – us Indies can take chances. I’ll go further and say we’re wasting our time if we don’t. Well, I suppose if you wanna make the big bucks you can re-write Twilight, but if you’re a good writer, if writing is your passion, you are missing a opportunity to push the envelope.

Some Indie writers are definitely taking risks. Stant Litore with The Zombie Bible, In Pieces, by Geoffrey Mann – to name two whose works I’ve read recently. Not your cookie cutter stories by any means.

Let’s go for it. Like Jaye says, readers may think they want hamburger, but serve filet mignon and see what happens. (Or maybe Bolognese over lettuce?)

Hey, I’ve been giving away my books on Goodreads so you might want to check it out. Just finished a giveaway for Pushing Her Boundaries and once it’s approved, Beauty and the Feast will be listed. Then I think maybe Anytime Darlin’ and Come Back To Me. Maybe even my four book science fiction series, Daughters of Persephone.

If I could figure out how to give away ebooks, I’d list my ebooks too. Anybody know how to do that? If you do, let me know.
