When I edit… I edit.  There’s no stopping.  I actually picked up supper tonight.  Don’t usually do that.  Plus Jake and I went for a two hour hike late this afternoon – until after sunset.  It was sweet!  And he’s being a lovely boy these days – really, I swear!  Didn’t even snap at that vicious Teacup Chihuahua, Zini, when Zini attacked his toes.  God almighty that little Zini is nasty.

The Artist and Is It Spicy? are FREE on Amazon through the 18th.  Did I say FREE?  Hmmm.  Did I mention the books are FREE?  The truth is I write to be read so please, go read!  Should I remind you once more that the books are FREE?  :)

I know I’ve scheduled my other free days too, just can’t remember the exact dates at this moment, aside from Incorporeal – Valentine’s Day, of course.  I’m also hoping for a quick release of In the Flesh.  Another round of edits to go.

Oh and I can’t miss The Big Bang Theory and Person of Interest.

And then it’s on to a serious topic.  Red Bull.

So I watch the Superbowl for the ads AND the game. Gotta love the game. If only international conflicts were decided on the football field. Men could smash each other to their little hearts’ content, within the rules of the game. Yeah. Make football, not war.

There have been years when the ads were about a bazillion times better than the game. Not this year. I only enjoyed two and a half ads – the Chevy Mayan 2012 Apocalypse ad and the kid peeing in the pool ad – although I don’t have a clue what the kid was advertising. But the look of relief on his face was priceless. The half-ad I liked was the clip from the coming Avengers movie. Thor is such a freakin’ hottie and Tony Stark is so wonderfully snarky. Plus I’m a sucker for all things comic book. The movie will probably tank, but as long as I can look at Thor. Sigh. And who the heck is Scarlet Johansson playing? Oh, Black Widow. Meh.

Okay, got that outta the way. Now I must do some promo.

And here’s some news for all you Bostonians…sorry about the Pats. Dimensions, a U.K. entry, is the closing film for the Boston Sci Fi Film Festival – Saturday, February 18th.  This looks like a great film. Lucky you Boston dudes and dudettes.  Here’s some info:

Dimensions is a 1920s/30s sci-fi drama and revolves around a scientist’s obsession with going back in time, to revisit a moment from his childhood.  It stars Camilla Rutherford (Gosford Park, Rome) and Henry Lloyd-Hughes (Harry Potter and the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, The Inbetweeners).  Dimensions premiered at the Cambridge Film Festival (UK) and outsold (per screen) the UK premieres of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Help and Midnight in Paris - not bad for a micro-budget, independent film, with only word-of-mouth (we can’t afford a fancy PR agency!).

Oh yeah!  Oh yeah!  Channeling my inner-cheerleader.  Can you see me doing back flips?  Yes, I cannot tell a lie.  I was a cheerleader.  Oh, how I loved those skirts!  They were so delightfully flouncy!

I love Superbowl Sunday.

A.  Great football (usually).

B.  Even greater commercials (usually).

C.  Super fun junk food (usually – especially if I’m making it).

D.  After attending some sucky Superbowl parties, it’s become our tradition to stay home and watch so we can concentrate on the game and eat some damn tasty food (usually).

So, we’re having homemade guacamole – I keep it simple, avocados, cilantro, green onions and lime juice, with just a spritz of Tabasco.

Peppadews stuffed with fresh ricotta, drizzled with Italian balsamic.

Bagna cauda – Penny Watson inspired me – and of course Morimoto!  Anchovy with garlic and olive oil (thanks Penny for the Round Pond!) – but my own spin – and I’m using fresh steamed and chilled veggies as the dipper-agent.  Is that a word?  Steamed brocollini, radishes, brussel sprouts, radicchio, tiny red peppers and a small loaf of just-baked sourdough bread.

Cerignola olives that I have already rinsed (to get rid of any salt), and marinated in olive oil, sliced blood oranges, chili flakes and black pepper.

And I might make some deviled eggs.  No, I do not put pickle relish in my deviled eggs.  Hell no.  Gotta be a mix of mayo and Miracle Whip with horseradish and chili sauce.  Oh, and smoked paprika sprinkled on top.

Over the next couple of weeks, I will be getting In the Flesh ready for publication.  I’ll definitely keep you updated.  In the Flesh is the sequel to my ghost romance, Incorporeal.  Both books will be available for Kindle.  I’m also considering moving into the world of print, so… stay tuned!

Ahhhhh.  There’s nothing like the fresh smell of clean.  This is what I’m doing for the next couple weeks – cleaning, rearranging, donating – off with the old, on with the new.

Here’s what I got for Christmas, new living room carpet and furniture after waiting fifteen years, until we had no more litters of kittens.  I finally pulled out the raggedy carpet and donated furniture that had been grated like cheese by those sharp little claws.  Man that stuff had seen better days.

Life is sweet, baby.  Now I’m in the process of arranging.  Arranging a room is like playing Janga – move one block and everything falls.  So all our rooms are getting a quick makeover for 2012.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t work if my surrounding environment is messy and cluttered.  Perhaps because my mind is so very disordered I need my house in order.  Not perfect, I hate perfection, just neat and tidy.  It’s sweet to display my favorite books.  I don’t own much in the way of tzatzkis, but I do have plenty of books and photos of my kids.

I’m looking forward to tomorrow – getting packing boxes, dropping books at the library, reorganizing one of the bedrooms and tackling the workout room.

Oh, I found that stuff, the Devil’s Dung.  Wonder what I should do with it???
