Photo Essay Part One.

This wilderness park is my very favorite place to hike. It’s a five minute walk from my front door. A three (?) -day photo extravaganza because there are just so many photos. Oh, and when you see the mushrooms tomorrow, those are oyster mushrooms and yes, they are edible. *I think I’m interviewed at Stacey Espino’s on Tuesday - http://www.staceyespino.blogspot.com/

    Beautiful pictures.

  2. It’s gorgeous! My dog Molly and I would love to hike those trails and see you and Jake. The hills behind my house are a steep workout and overlook the sea but on any sunny day we have to cope with basking rattlesnakes by the tens… I get a little extra aerobic work running from snakes. Yikes!

  3. Thanks, Amber.

Ack! Kat - I would never walk there! I’ve only seen one rattlesnake at this park. He’d stretched across the trail and my dog, Louie, and I were able to turn around and go a different way. I’ve run into three at the other park where we hike - one was gigantor disguised as a rattlesnake. He had an enormous head. I’m not so much afraid of them as concerned my dog will get bit…but I think if I had to hop over a rattlesnake obstacle course, I wouldn’t like it one bit.
