With crab! Unfortunately, there’s no crab in this picture. It’s a spicy Bloody Mary with a wedge of lemon, a wedge of lime, celery, a jalapeno, okra, peppadew, slice of green tomato, Stoli citrus, and a spicy Old Bay rim with 2 big old ounces of lump crab. Man, this sucker is a meal in itself - three of us ended up splitting it. That Old Bay rim alone was to die for!
In addition we ate the following (and took half of it home)…good lord Miss Shirley knows how to cook:
A cone of sweet potato fries with mango ketchup and citrus aioli.
Crab and fried green tomato eggs Benedict - poached eggs, jumbo lump crab meat & corn hash with roasted red pepper Hollandaise sauce. Oh. My. God. Talk about heaven.
Get your grits on - jumbo blackened shrimp on fried green tomatoes, savory grits with bacon & roasted corn emulsion.
Sweet potato souffle cakes - candied pecans and garnished with marshmallow whip.

Tomorrow, I’m gonna get serious and talk about weight - but not the kind of weight you think.
And then about why I like a blank canvas.
And finally why I miss all the parties.

Now you’re making me hungry!
I am salivating on my keyboard. That sounds fabulous! (Tomato juice is healthy! hee hee)
Oh this was cruel. It all sounds so wonderful. Kidnap Miss Shirley and bring her our way! lol
XXOO Kat
Amber, Penny and Kat - the Spicy Shirley was really something - I don’t even like to drink a Bloody Mary, but wow, this was quite a way to start the day!
Ok this sounds yummy…..
I feel like Pavlov’s dog. LOL
Yum. Sometimes I think I’m not very southern but when it comes to anything with crab, sweet potato fries, grit cakes, and fried green tomatoes, I’m there y’all.
Ooh, that souffle sounds tasty;)
Savannah, Ciara and Sandra - yes! And I’m still salivating like Pavlov’s dogs!
Charlie - as a Northern girl, I am so with you. Give me fried green tomatoes with anything and I’m happy! While I was visiting, we went to one restaurant where I ate a grit cake with wild mushrooms, and I swear that dish went directly to number 2 on my mental top ten taste list!
Now, where was I yesterday? Holy Moly. Gotta try this.
Who needs crab?
Sharon - I’m going to figure out how to make one. It wasn’t salty like the usual Bloody Mary - it was nice and citrusy and super fresh.
