If you’re gonna create a post-apocalyptic world

make it complicated. People aren’t simple and interactions are complex under the best of circumstances. When the world has gone to hell, imagine how we will respond.

This is why I love The Walking Dead. The show is not for the faint of heart and I’m not referring to the gore. The interactions are complicated. Nobody is all bad or all good. People are just trying to survive any way they can. And the truth is, you gotta be awful careful because the kind of people who are tough enough to survive aren’t necessarily the kind of people you want as your neighbors.

Team Shayne here. (Anti-hero) He was right, those walkers had to be dealt with and Herschel needed big fat dose of reality. But Shayne is not a hard man. He has a heart. It was right there on his sleeve when he oh-so-gently tended to Carol’s injuries.

Dale accuses Shayne of murder. Well, I have news for you Dale, what do think Rick just did in that bar? He did what he had to do to save his group. And that, folks, makes for hot damn gripping post apocalyptic viewing.

I was a little bit disappointed w/ last night’s show. Not sure why. The finale from last season was so incredible, I guess there was no way this episode could possibly top that. It was lacking the “zing” it needed, I think. But the scene in the bar was gripping….I was a nervous wreck! *bites nails* Ack!

I think I am in the faint of heart. Steph

  3. Hey, Steph, if you can watch True Blood, you can watch The Walking Dead. Waaaaay more gore in True Blood.

  4. Oh Penny, I loved it. It helped that I watched the last episode right before the new episode. Helped a lot. This was more psychological warfare - how we all deal with our demons - internal and external.

I heard they fired the entire writing staff from last season. Did you hear that? I hope the quality is still good this year. I also heard a rumor that Stephen King and his son Joe Hill are going to direct an episode….oh PLEASE!!!!!!!

Zombies totally scare me!! My kids love the show (as in older teenagers, almost men). And I agree it is a great show, but half the time I can’t watch (as soon as the Zombies appear I cower). I know I’m a big wuss when it comes to the walking dead!

I actually loved the episode, except for Lori taking off to fetch Rick and Glen who had already gone off to fetch Herschel. What? She thought those guys were off fishing or chasing women? It drives me nuts when a character does something stupid.

I’m Team-Darryl. That squinty eyed hillbilly is hot.

  8. Jaye, Lori drives me bloody insane. Darryl is my second favorite anti-hero - right behind Shayne.

  9. Oh Casey, it’s a great show. So many moral dilemmas!

  10. It’s gonna be interesting, Penny!

  11. Katalina Leon says:

I missed last night’s episode, damn! There could be zombies stashed in the barn and I wouldn’t know it.
    XXOO Kat

Hmm, never actually watched the show, but agree with you wholeheartedly on what “makes a good show”. You may have even tempted me to check it out, because real characters with good and bad points are exactly what I like to watch. Thanks!

  13. Yup, Eden, great show.

  14. You gotta watch it Kat, but check your barn first!

  15. yoshi says:

I don’t look forward to watching it but I can’t not watch it. Is that a good thing?

  16. I think that’s a good thing, Yoshi. Just can’t look away, can you?
