So here in England… Right now in Chester after spending a lovely day and a half with the oh-so-gracious Tom and Isbhel - who did, indeed, put up with our jet lag! Best of all, no yellow jackets.
Last night we saw Jersey Boys in the Prince Edward Theater in London - all about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. The show was incredible. Fantastic. If it comes to San Francisco I have to see it again simply to hear the amazing music.
I’ve been to London once, but things are very different now. Everywhere you go in the city you catch a happy, lively, thriving vibe. People seem thrilled to be the center of the world’s attention - between the Olympic Games and the Para-Olympics. Honestly - lots of shiny happy people holding hands.
It’s a grand place right now. Hubby is in love with London - especially the open air urinals. He wanted me to take a photo and post it but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I think three men can stand there, in the street, and pee at once.
Already took a walk along the intact medieval walls of Chester, along the River Dee and ate some Cheshire cheese. I’m good. Now it’s time to sleep off more of the jet lag.
Tomorrow we meet up with our guide and head off into the mountains of Wales.

So glad you are having a wonderful time!
bugger, you beat me to it, I’m just writing a post on the pitfalls of going from Virtual to real friendship and of what can be learned of visitors from far flung places and putting up with drunken Californians, and the question is how can folk so old, look so bloody young?
Have a wonderful time, you two and your families…and good luck to England!
Tom and Ishbel are the most amazing people. Like Tom says over on his site, the number of things we have in common is uncanny. Including our Jennies! We had such a wonderful time with them it was hard to leave them behind. Now I’m scared one of our hiking companions is the woman I saw last night with a silver mohawk! Yikes!
Glad you’re having fun!
But I want to see the picture of the open air urinal!
We live in Vancouver and had the same experience when the winter Olympics were here. It was like being on vacation in your own city.
How wondrous. Enjoy.
Yay! Sounds like an amazing time.
Oh so jealous you get to visit Wales. London is great though, lived there for 5 months and loved it. Have a great tour and take lots of pics!
Have fun. I am rather enjoying So Cali. S
