  1. Ray Plasse says:

Nice pics but you must be feeling better since you went out on a hike! Good stuff!

  2. Sounds like you had a great time. Was Jake allowed off laed? (I guess not, with all that wildlife around)

  3. Yes, better Ray. Had a weird ass C-T scan tonight. Lungs. Contrast material. Yuck. I let Jake pull me up the hill like a sled dog. ;)

  4. Ray Plasse says:

    What is contrast material?

  5. Hi Greta! He gets off in one section where it’s too steep to risk holding a leash. I could get pulled over the edge of a cliff. Thus he has his moment to romp. I check to make sure there are no deer around before I let him off. There’s a spot about a quarter mile ahead where he waits for me. Fortunately not many people hike back there. Otherwise they’d hear this crashing through the underbrush and a huge dog would come flying by!

  6. Contrast material is radioactive iodine injected directly into a vein. I did not like it at all. Gives a much clearer picture of the internal organs — lungs in my case.

  7. Ray Plasse says:

I hope the scans show that everything is getting better!

  8. Thanks, Ray. Me too.

  9. Amber Skyze says:

Hope all the results are positive!

  10. Penelope says:

I love these photos! Get better soon!

  11. Jaye says:

Wow, great pics. Still snow and cold wind here. :( I need some flowers in my life right about now.

  12. AD Starrling says:

Beautiful pics of Jake and the flowers! Hope you feel better soon and the CT results are ok!

  13. Spring is a wonderful season, lifts the spirits. The wind isn’t blowing today, so I get to enjoy the weather. Glad you’re feeling a little better.

  14. Tim Dittmer says:

Good to see you up and about. Take it slow.

  15. Tom Stonach says:

Great photos my sweet. Nice to see you out and about. Hope the tests show everything ok. I’m waiting on a scan appointment and I am in next week for a gastroscopy but actually beginning to feel much better !!

  16. Yes, Tom, I’m out and about. Jake is a huge help - he hauls me up the hills and waits for me on the down slope! Good luck with your test. I hate hate hate tests!

  17. Thanks, Tim. Have no choice but to take it slow which is annoying. :)

  18. Hi Stephanie. I love spring and fall. Love the winter rains. Mostly just like it green. So the question now is will I stay better when I stop the antibiotics.

  19. Thanks, AD! I’m hoping they do not show interstitial lung disease - caught whooping cough a few years back which left me with some dysfunction.

  20. I know Jaye - you’ve had so much snow! Our flower season is almost over. Soon it will be fire season.

  21. Thanks, Penny! You can probably identify the flowers.

  22. Actually, Amber, we hope the results are negative!!! ;)

  23. Ray Plasse says:

And the answer to the question will be YES! YES! YES!

  24. The answer to my health question, Ray? ;)

  25. Ray Plasse says:

    YES! YES! YES!

  26. Sandra Cox says:

What a wondrous walk. How are you feeling, Ms. Julia.

  27. Thanks, Sandra. Feeling better. It is a beautiful hike.

  28. anny cook says:

Gorgeous country. Gorgeous doggie, Jake. Wonderful animals… so glad you were able to be out and about! Best wishes with the tests!!!

  29. Thanks, Anny. It is pretty here right now.

  30. Diana Stevan says:

Beautiful photos. Nature is so soothing on the nerves and otherwise. Hope you hear good news soon.

  31. Very soothing, Diana. Keeps my head screwed on straight.

  32. I love the pictures, Julia. Our Maggie, like your Jake, is always eager and willing for a hike, though we still are in that half-season that’s more winter than spring.
Maggie is an all-out squirrel chaser, but when coyotes slink up to the top of Red Rocks Canyon, she knows to stand still, glaring back at them but not running. Is she took off at a run it would be all over as others from the pack wait in the rocks along the side.

  33. Yes, Marylin - saw your dog in the snow! Jake would love snow. I really should take him. Today he got in a river for the first time. We’re up in Mendocino. Have to watch him as he wanted to run up into the mountains and vanish forever. Be wild and free. But probably starve since he likes his meat cooked. ;)
