Blizzard Conditions!

May 6, 2010 - 7:30 pm 2 Comments

Couldn’t get to the main road today so I’m here for one more night.

My daughter and I hiked up to the top of a butte this evening and I took a lot of pics with my new camera phone purchased especially for this occasion. I’ll try to upload them. Right now, I’m watching the sun set in the west behind dark clouds. A herd of pronghorn antelope walks across the pasture right outside my window. A pair of sandhill cranes fly across the creek. Calves kick up their heels for joy and gallop up and down the steep hills on awkwardly long legs, and your heart warms and you smile. The newborn calf found in a snowdrift at three in the morning looks as if he may survive after all. A good day.
