I wasn’t going to post today, but I had to share.

This has been a quiet Christmas for us. Our daughters are both out of town - but at least they’re together, and our son hasn’t arrived yet, he’s due in an hour or so. And this is our first Christmas since Louie died. Of course we have Jake - the supposed dog, but really a chimera of a German shepherd, chimpanzee, mountain goat, hyena, wolf and lion. I’m not a jewelry person by any means, but my husband gave me a gift that made me cry. He bought me this charm bracelet. On it is a charm with the initial of each of our three children, a dog charm for our deceased golden retriever, Rosie, a charm for Louie, and a charm for Image, my beloved horse who also died too soon. Other than babies, this is the very best gift he’s ever given me. I fell in love with him the moment I saw him and I love him more every day.

I got a really good present — it is ostentatious so I will tell you in an email but it rhymes with old hatch. Also got a flip video cam and a penlight (yes. weird - i asked for one). I got my hubs the 25th anniv R&R Hall of fame concerts and the complete Mel Brooks collection.
