Six Sentence Sunday.

Today is Six Sentence Sunday. I heard about this from the Science Fiction Romance Brigade. I couldn’t decide if I should find six sentences from a completed work or my WIP. Hmmm. WIP wins. From Kerosene, a romance-suspense in progress:

Kyle watched a dark shape creep along the edge of the loading dock. He or she kept to the shadows, barely visible against the bushes bordering the brick wall. Distorted by the mist, the figure appeared bulky; not especially feminine, but not particularly male either. If Kyle hadn’t been looking for Dr. Richards, he might not have paid much attention. The figure turned left, moving without hesitation down a narrow alleyway. Despite his reluctance to leave the apartment building, Kyle felt he had no choice but to follow.

  4. Hi Julia! I’m joining SSS today too. :) First of all, love your title. The snippet is wonderful and leaves me wondering if the figure is male, female or human at all? The POV characters compulsion to follow raises questions about what’s at stake for him. Well done!
