My Heart Goes Out to Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona, Her Family, and the Families of All Affected.

This is America. We don’t decide our political differences by shooting the people we disagree with. I normally avoid political topics, but for all our sakes, for the sake of our children and for the future of our nation, the prevailing political divisiveness and hatred has to stop. Politicians and pundits - grow the hell up and behave like responsible adults.

You are absolutely right, how awful.

  2. I’ve been following this story with increasing sadness. If anything good can come from something so bad, I hope it’s the realization that extreme political views and actions are the antithesis of the American message of freedom, respect and tolerance.

I was horrified to read about it. I completely agree with you - it’s going too far, it has to stop, everyone is going overboard. I hope this is a wake up call to the nation.

  4. The shooter may be a real sicko, but still, the political parties must tone down the rhetoric and be more civil. I’m a proud independent - I vote the candidate, not the party, and I am sick of extremism on both sides of the aisle.

Such a horrible, horrible thing to do. Sad.

  6. Delilah Hunt says:

I agree with you Julia. I watch the news to know what to look out for, but if I could do better I wouldn’t. It sickening to know there are such cold-hearted people sharing the world we live in along with our children. I’ve always thought that many people are becoming less conscious of their humanity. It’s just sad.

    We’re pretty pathetic right now.
I’m proud of so many things in our country, unfortunately, I’m appalled by as many.

  8. America is still a beacon of hope in a very weird world. As a moderate, for years I’ve been disgusted by the vitriol on both sides. C’mon, we are not enemies. We can agree to disagree.
