Heads Up!

All I can say is…Thanks!

Some of you have emailed me to tell me how much you enjoyed, or are enjoying, Pushing Her Boundaries. You have no idea how much your words mean to me!

Hubby finished it last night. He loved it! High praise and man, it’s too bad we can’t, well, do anything. That’s the test. What test, you ask? Never mind. I still can’t raise the pressure in my eyes.

As per my usual new schedule, I’m over at Night Writers today, talking about how I’m going stir crazy from all this lack of fresh air and activity.

Oh, I can’t believe this, but my diet has been so restricted, and I’m watching so much sports…you know, March Madness and all that…that I find myself craving fast food. I’m serious. I don’t eat fast food - haven’t in years. I’m like craving Jack in the Box spicy chicken sandwich and Wendy’s new chicken thingys - don’t know what they’re called but they are sort of a wrap. I’m desperate for saturated fat and starved for calories! My mashed bananas and protein shakes just ain’t cuttin’ it!

I know how you feel…I’m under a lot of those restrictions too!

  2. I want a whole weekend of peace (And I might get it next week!) to read and savor “Pushing Her Boundaries”!!
We saw “Limitless” last Sunday and loved it. The sodium and fat laden movie popcorn was especially delicious. We finished the movie experience off with a trip to Taco Bell-my favorite crappola junk food-I love those horrible packets of hot sauce dumped all over the beans and oat-beef, or whatever they’ve admitted that stuff is. There definitely is a place for junk food in life.
    XXOO Kat

Gah. I hear you on that. Just a few months ago I was eating so healthy and working out every single day. Now I haven’t lift any weights in months, I’m eating all sorts of crap that I normally wouldn’t eat if things weren’t so hectic. Well at least we realize it so it can be nipped in the bud soon. I’ll stop over at Night Writers later today. And yes Pushing Her Boundaries was an excellent read!

Hey Julia. It’s so rewarding when hubster gives his seal of approval (and I’m sure your book passed his “litmus test” and it is a shame you couldn’t do anything about it *g*).

Glad to hear you’re feeling well enough to bummed about your lack of food. Hope every day you’re feeling better and better.

  5. Yes, Amber, I feel for you!

Kat - oh Taco Bell and those little high sodium salsa packets…I feel like Homer Simpson! Salivating like Pavlov’s dogs! And movie popcorn! Right now I’m up for just about anything - even a bacon double cheeseburger and I don’t eat meat!

Hi Delilah - It’s hard to eat healthy all the time when you have little kids because kids like junk food. It’s like bird seed to birds - quick energy plus sugar grows their little brains! When your kids are older, it’s way easier. Parents who starve their kids of fat and sugar are doing their children a big disservice so don’t sweat it!

Hey Nina! Getting better. Off to get the stitches out of my neck today - please god!!! Yes, the book passed the litmus test, but one more week of abstinence. Can’t raise that BP in my eyes! Hope your move is going well.

  6. Stephanie says:

Can you add protein powder to the shakes and berries?

  7. Steph - I like the Odwalla original chocolate soy protein drink. Very tolerable. It has fruit in it.
I should be able to chew a whole lot better by the end of the week.

  8. Congrats on him giving you the approval….It matters more when it is someone you know, or family..

  9. Ciara Knight says:

That is awesome. I’m so looking forward to having feedback like this someday. Great job. I hope you can have a less restricted diet soon.

No wonder you were up in arms about the popcorn police:)
