Author Katalina Leon is the queen of sensuality. Nobody can paint a scene, color sensation, bring love to life like Kat. Sugar Roux Voodoo is a wonder. When Kat told me she plans a series…I was thrilled, not only for her, but for her readers. Enjoy the blurb and the book trailer!
New Orleans, 1834. Lark La Beau is a green-eyed beauty and respected beneficent voodoo priestess with the sometimes uncooperative gift of clairvoyance. Captain Valcour Curry is a debonair, larger-than-life buccaneer with ambition to burn and a taste for fine things. Following a whirlwind romance with Lark, he disappears at sea, leaving Lark with a riverboat and a child to rear—alone.
A guilty act of piracy causes Valcour to fall victim to a shapeshifting magician who practices the dark art of soul-swapping. For five years Valcour has been enslaved as an emotionless zombie with no memory of his loved ones or past. From dusk to dawn he is cursed to toil in the cane fields while the evil magician uses his soul to lure women and have his brutal way with them.
Lark will risk hell and journey to the oppressive Broken Oak Plantation to break the curse. It’s a terrifying place. Her only tools to call Valcour’s lost soul back to life are voodoo and the sensual power of love.

Thank you Julia!
I loved writing this book. I do want to warn readers that some darker elements of sexuality are explored by other characters in contrast to the love story between the hero and heroine. For some reason this book was not issued an advisory and perhaps it needs one.

Kat, good point, but then evil is evil. All the sweeter when good prevails.
Congrats on another hit, Kat!
I like the darker aspect. Warn us, Warn us! The cover guy would never have sand kicked in his face on the beach.

Steph, you oughta try Kat’s first book, Noblesword. My husband still views that story as the epitome of sensuality.
Hi Amber, thank you sweetie!
Steph, I’m mildly warning readers because I had a reader be shocked.
By erotic-romance standards Sugar Roux Voodoo is right in line with any of the other wonderfully steamy books at Ellora’s Cave.

By the way I thought it would be downright unfair to claim I had an evil magician on the loose in New Orleans and NOT show what wrong-doings he was up to. (For our pleasure and entertainment of course!) lol
It’s a good thing we have a Beneficent Voodoo priestess to put it all back in place!

This book DEMANDS a series - thank god you’re doing one. Love your work, Kat and the trailer - wow!

I’ve just started reading this wonderful book! The cover is delicious and the story drew me in from the beginning. What a great premise-I love the whole concept of beneficent voodoo.
Gorgeous video!
OMG! Thank you ladies!
Tina, I have three more stories on the way and all the titles rhyme. So what supernatural creature rhymes with Sugar Roux Voodoo? (I’m not telling yet! lol)
Nina, thank you!
Savannah, you probably already know this but that gorgeous man on the cover is named “Angelo” sigh Angelo…and he’s Italian.
Tessie, I love you! You’re the good fairy of Beta reading.
Thank you Paris! I hope you enjoy the story.
