Rosalie Lario discusses Supernatural and her new release!

On Supernatural’s Season Finale – Where Do They Go From Here?

To those of you who know me, it’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of the CW television show, Supernatural. From angels to demons and everything in between, this show is a font for the paranormal. One of my favorite things about Supernatural is how the writers always find a way to take things to the next level. And this year’s season finale was no exception.

*Spoiler alert: If you haven’t seen the season finale episode, but plan to and don’t want to know how it ends, stop here.*

For those of you who’ve followed this season’s storyline, you know the angels have been fighting for power. This episode ends with Castiel winning the power when he absorbs the souls of those in purgatory. Although he is stabbed with the angel-killing dagger, he doesn’t die. The very last thing he reveals is that he can no longer be killed by that dagger…because he is no longer an angel. He is now the new God.

Whoa! I thought this was a mind-blowing conclusion. And it perfectly sets the stage for next season’s plotline. Because it seems fairly obvious that Castiel is somewhat unhinged: a corrupt god. How will the Winchester boys handle this? I can’t wait to find out!

Okay, so I love the angel plotline. In fact my latest series, The Fallen Warriors, involves angels. But not in the biblical sense. The angels on my world are a race of beings from an alternate dimension. They are forced into our world when the walls between the dimensions collapse. Read on for more about For Love of an Angel, Book 1 of The Fallen Warriors Series:

Blurb:

In a world where angels rule over humans, twelve outcasts dare to defy expectation, warring with their angel brethren to prevent the extinction of humankind.

They are The Fallen…

Michael is one of twelve angels who have been outcast due to their determination to protect humankind. In order to preserve his immortality and strength, he must find a mate with angel blood. Eva Smyth has never believed the propaganda spouted by the Consortium—the elite system of guards put into place once angels took over reign of Earth—but she never expected to learn the angels plan to eradicate all of humankind, or that she herself is part angel. Joining Michael means living a life on the run, at war against the angels and hunted by the Consortium. Eva must decide whether to risk it all…for love of an angel.

Any other Supernatural fans out there? What did you think of the season finale? Do you think it did a good job of hinting at the trials and tribulations of next season?

I’d be happy to give a copy of For Love of an Angel (in the e-format of your choice) to one random commenter.

  2. Ciara Knight says:

Oh, I love angel books. :) Congratulations on the new release, Rosalie.

  3. Thanks, Amber and Ciara. I’m a huge Supernatural fan so it’s been fun writing about angels, even if mine are very different from those on the show. :-)

And many thanks to you, Julia, for hosting me on your site today!

    Rosalie!

The season finale was fantastic! It definitely hinted at what’s to come next season. Cas as a corrupt god should be a fascinating twist—the boys are going to have to take stock of their allies while they work to save Cas from absolute power. I’m guessing that Crowley will be making more appearances. And now that Sam has his memories of his time in hell, who knows how that will affect him. I confess, I’m kinda glad that Dean had Lisa & Ben’s memories wiped clean. I really wasn’t in to the Lisa/Dean pairing. I always wanted him with Bella or Anna. I can’t wait until the next season begins!!! I’d love for them to bring back Gabriel/the Trickster, too.

  5. You had me at “Supernatural” - and wow what an ending. I’m seriously worried about Sam and Cas. Love the J’s (she sighs).

I like the Angels from another world/realm idea. Not heavenly…. sounds pretty cool.

  6. Congrats on the new book…I need to catch up on the show…I just have not had the time to watch it….

  7. Hi Rosalie, your new book sounds fantastic and I love the cover!

  8. Roni - I’m so with you. I don’t think the Lisa/Ben storyline worked particularly well. It’s going to be pretty cool seeing what happens with Cas.

Clancy - I know, this season finale rocked!

Savannah - Thank you, and you should definitely catch up when you have some free time. :-)

    Kat - Thank you!

    Rosalie,

Congratulations on your new release! Angels are such interesting individuals. Contact with the divine or even just divine origin has such enticing appeal. I love your spin on the angels being anotheer race from a different dimension. I can’t wait to read For Love of An Angel! (Today is my birthday, *hint* *hint*!)

I also LOVE Supernatural. I’ve been too busy to watch this season, but hubs promised me he’d buy me the seson on DVDs. I tried not to absorb any spoilers from your post! =D

    Have a great day…

  12. Renee - This was a good season, but then I think that of every season. :-)

Dana and Jennifer - I’m a Dean girl too! In fact, the hero in Book 2 of my Demons of Infernum series, which releases later this year, was inspired by Dean. He’s a hotheaded smartass who was just so much fun to write!

  13. Thanks so much to everyone who participated yesterday! I drew a name out of the metaphorical hat (i.e. random.org) and the winner of the ebook is Amber Skyze! Amber, please contact me at rosalielario@gmail.com and let me know which ebook format you prefer. :-)

I’m not a Supernatural fan … I know, I know … I keep trying to check it out when my son is home, but it seems a bit gory to me. Anyway, LOVED your first chapter Rosalie. Best of luck with this newest release. Sounds like a wonderful series you’ve started.
