You must have thought about it - who you’d cast to play your favorite characters… as in, back in the day when he was young and hot and unknown Gerard Butler would have made the perfect Jamie Fraser from Outlander. C’mon, you know it’s true.
I have a tough time with this. My mind’s eye sees female protagonists more clearly than it does males. For instance, I can imagine Emma Stone in the role of Mari Damon from Captured. I would definitely cast Emma Stone as Mari. Ekkatt? Your guess is as good as mine.
The young Eleanor Devlin Barre from Anytime Darlin’? Taylor Swift, or someone tall and willowy like her.
Jennifer Lawrence as Eva Raines from Beauty and the Feast? What do you think? With chestnut brown hair. I can see Jennifer Lawrence on a mountain bike. Don’t know how she’d be in the kitchen though.
Rachel Weisz as Grace Adams in My Everything.
Cara in Come Back to Me would have to be very vulnerable.
Sara Wise in Incorporeal would have to be very determined.
All right, that’s the best I can do for now. I’m wondering if everyone casts their characters or if it’s just me?

A lot of my friends do this, but I usually don’t. Though, I have been know to tack an inspiring picture by my computer on occasion.
Hi Charlee! I never exactly see my characters, but sometimes when I finish a book I see someone who has some attributes.
I like this idea and also like your picks. Rooney Mara for Come Back to Me and Rachel McAdams in Incorporeal.
Oh Yoshi! Nailed it! Great suggestions!
I do this too. It helps me with the visuals as I’m writing.
I just did a blog piece and was asked to cast my latest WIP.
I said Julia Roberts would play Lucy, my miniature dachshund who is the star of LUCY THE WONDER WEENIE. What do you think?
I don’t use celebrities, but like Charlee said, I tack up a picture that reminds me of a character as I write. Great choices for yours.
Hmmm. I’ve never tacked up a picture, Stephanie. I know some people derive an image of their characters from music.
She should because she has the right voice, Penny. She’s doing insurance commercials now.
I think it’s fun, Amber. Feel better soon!
