It was a good weekend.
No, it was a great weekend. A great anniversary weekend.
Let’s see…
First I got a dozen red roses-
Then we journeyed to an inn that allows, in fact, encourages dogs to come with their owners-
We were greeted with an iced bottle of Roederer and a bowl of fresh strawberries-
Gorgeous ocean views from our room-
Hikes along the beach, Big River and into the redwood forest-
An excellent massage- the best I’ve ever had-
A unique vegan restaurant- more tomorrow (Tuesday Treats) on vegan-ism-
A three-hour ride (each way) on the most intense winding road ever in the history of my world. Had to stop in the redwoods for hubs to settle his stomach and he never loses it- first time since I’ve known him. He was quite green. Thank god I was driving or it would have been me. The dog threw up twice on the way home. Poor little guy.
FYI when we arrived in Mendocino I had cell phone service again. The first two text messages I received were from my daughter and my son telling me the Boston police had captured the second terrorist suspect. The best news I heard all week.

Sounds like a dream weekend, except where hubby and Jake got sick. Happy Anniversary!
Fascinated by the breakfast! Place looks awesome! Glad you are feeling better and could enjoy it. Steph
What a great trip! I am totally jealous. (Except for the dog puking in the car part). So glad you had a nice anniversary trip.
Great photos!
Wow, I am filled with wonder. Great photos. Tell hubs he made the top ten great guys list this week.
It looks like a dream! I’m so happy for all three of you.
Great place, Kat! Truly pretty.
Yeah, Jaye - he’s way up there! Planned this all on his own. Just gets better and better!
We had fun, Penny. Jake had fun, except for the car. It was truly the curviest road ever in the history of the world.
I’ll talk about the breakfast tomorrow, Steph. The place is definitely different. Very friendly too.
Thanks, Amber! We had a great time.
OMG! I know that road! My dogs threw up too. And my husband made me stop several times for a breather. We drove from San Fran up to Humbolt during stormy November. The redwoods are gorgeous, but geez, that twisty-turvy, hour-after-hour, endless road sucks!
Ah, Sara, then you know exactly what I’m talking about! The road does seem endless! Gorgeous but endless!
An awesome weekend for You, Oscar and Jake with great photos too, was that really you on the massage table with a little pony tail. Glad you all had such a wonderful time, but I bet if you go back Oscar and Jake will be fighting over who drives up that road and don’t forget to pack the sick bags in the car next time LoL xxxxx
What a wonderful weekend…minus the throwing up. Thank you so much for sharing the pics!
OMG. What a perfect anniversary.
Thanks, Sandra. It was perfect in so many ways!
