Jake got to act like a dog today. I took him to the beach for a romp because he sure can’t run free around here. Too many foxtails and cougars, as in big cats, not older women. Although older women do have a thing for him because he’s just so dang cute.
Although we did have a wonderful hill hike in the fog a few days ago:

Anyway, I threw sticks for him, he retrieved them and ran in happy doggy circles - crashed through the surf, up the bluffs and back down onto the sand, dug holes… We met one other dog, a fluffy white and orange puppy. That’s it. Otherwise it was just Jake, the surfers and me. We had the entire beach all to ourselves.

Whenever I take Jake to the beach we find loads of beach glass and carnelian.

Penny- I think about you every time I take Jake there. He’s great at digging out carnelian! I have to remember to bring my phone so I can take some photos. I usually leave it in the car since I don’t have cell phone service there. You know… I could live at the beach!

Hi Roberta! Jake loves to run up one particular trail and then come flying down at full speed and gallop just past me, barely brushing my leg. He thinks it’s hilarious. It is as long as he doesn’t hit me.
I always love your pictures, and some of these posed the possibility of get-away fogginess and quiet…which I could really use right now. You and Jake have such a good time together.
