This is the very song that brought my husband and me back together again after six years of no contact.
I could not be more serious. Our story is filled with magic and wonder and Gerry Rafferty played a major role. We are married today because of him.

I’ve never heard of him or the song. When I read that it brought you and your husband back together I just had to listen to it. It’s a beautiful song! What a romantic memory for you and your husband
I’d never heard of him or the song either. It is a wonderful memory for you and hubby to cherish.
If he’s are tangibly still here in song he can’t be truly gone. The arts and kids are the closest we can get to being immortal (unless the genre is right).
It’s a beautiful song. I’m sure he would be pleased to know it had such an impact on your life.
This is funny because awhile ago I was listening to Gerry’s other sweet sad song “Baker Street” and I was wondering what happened to this talented person? I looked him up and it was just too sad. He died soon afterward. I listened carefully again to the lyrics in “Baker Street” and heard Gerry’s future demise and wishful thinking clearly laid out to beautiful music…. Baker Street a very honest song.
At least Gerry left beautiful music behind and its wonderful that he helped bring you and your husband back together. It’s a lot.
XXOO Kat
Great songwriter, Kat. Beautiful voice. He was Scottish, which is a good thing in my book! His music did set in motion a series of very synchronous events.
Thanks, Ciara. It is a lovely song.
Yeah, Steph - the pen is a long arm from the grave - now also film and music.
Oh Amber, he was a great singer/song writer.
Thanks, Delilah. His music is worth listening to.
