Nope, not a WIP. The house. Got the last room finished today - de-cluttered, organized, tidy. Picked up a couple pieces of the furniture and added a few decorative touches. Not that I have any decorating talent, but I did arrange some non-book items. I have one more unique piece on order to fit under my staircase, a piece which will probably hold more books…
Around this house, books seem to multiple like fruit flies - you know, spontaneous generation. Put two books together on a shelf and pretty soon you have three or four or five. Maybe books use the rhythm method of birth control. All I know is I sure have donated a hell of a lot of books to the library over the past twelve months and there’s plenty left over in every single room. Boxes in the garage, the attic. Guess I wouldn’t have it any other way. But my oh my, hubby does love his Kindle. Saves a lot of shelf space.
Books are just like my hair, which grows incredibly fast. Nice segue, huh? I cut off three, four inches this week. Well, I didn’t cut it, my hairdresser cut it for me. Those of you who saw pictures of me from the July wedding know that my hair was pretty short. I decided to let it grow after the wedding and it was already down to my shoulders. My coarse, horse hair gets out of control fast. When it reaches a certain length it drives me insane and the urge to chop it off becomes overwhelming. Snip snip.
I came home and hubby said, “You look like a boy.”
Well, I sure hope I look like a cute boy. Here’s the cut I copied. What do you think? Or is this a loaded question?

I’ll bet the haircut looks really cute on you.
As for the books. I swear they’re like rabbits. I have to clear them out of all the rooms in the house every few months.
That haircut is adorable! Soooooo cute. Love it. I’ll bet you look great! Can’t wait to see you.
I like it! Take a picture for a side by side.
Didn’t you used to have a bacon blog link on your side-margin? I wanted to link to it today from my blog, but I don’t see it. I wrote about my recent recipe of yum. Not terribly original but great for lunch.
I miss you! Unless you’re coming to conferences this year, I’m planning on making a point to see you in 2013. Even if I have to drag you over here.
I love the cut! I’m sure it looks great on you.
XXOO Kat
It’s a cute style, but I’d love to see it on you! I’m sure it’s adorable!
That is a cute hairstyle. Congrats on finishing the house. I know what you mean about books. I have been so good (I thought) about managing the number of books. Then I realize I’m just spreading them out, making the piles smaller and tucking cute little shelves in out of the way places- stealth shelves.
Oooh, stealth shelves! That’s what I’ll start calling them, Jaye!
Thanks, Nina. If I can figure out how to use my phone…
Thanks, Kat!
Hi, Mia! Yes I did have a link to a bacon blog, but the blog person stopped posting. Too bad! I loved the bacon blog! We definitely have to get together!
Yes, Amber, books are like rabbits. They do multiply!
Thanks, Pen - I’ll try to get a picture up!
Love the new do - super sexy - don’t listen to your hubby! And - is that what is going on in my bookshelf - bunny reproduction!! I always wondered how the pile kept growing (even with a Nook and Kindle). Thanks for the enlightment
Great hair, product using cut, no? Now you’ve done your place I will send you a ticket and you can come over and do mine. I have no ability to throw stuff out. I might need it. I inherited my parent’s depression mind set. My sister is so bad she has to buy new houses for all her stuff.
Tell your hubs he can live a whole bunch of new fantasies with the cut. S
Hey Casey - yup, bunnies! Okay, I’ll tell him…
Steph - yeah, all the M/M fantasies! Ha! No I toss stuff. Actually I donate it. I really am not a hoarder. My husband can be if left to his own devices.
I love books. Have them in every room except the bathrooms. Glad to see you’re still blogging. I keep looking for the links to your blog on Facebook, but it’s never there anymore…:-(
Anny - really? It’s supposed to automatically upload to FB. Sigh. I’ll have to check on it. I even have books in the bathrooms. Insane, huh.
FB no longer automatically up loads it. That stopped on November 22.
Thanks for letting me know, Anny. I had no idea.
Love it!
PS Very jealous about the clean house:)
For now it’s clean, Sandra…for now!
