Anybody else getting a weird vibe?

Not to be an alarmist, but I’m feeling some sort of disturbance in the force. I had another post planned, a fun post, but this sensation is nagging at me.

I don’t like it one little bit. Anybody else feel it?

You know what this creepy feeling reminds me of? It reminds me of my husband’s old watch. When we were first married, he had this watch alarm that played the theme song from The Twilight Zone. Which was enough to creep me out all by itself, but then after he moved in with me, the alarm began going off at odd hours. Mostly when it was near me. My husband changed the battery a couple times but that made no difference.

Imagine waking in the dead of night to the theme from The Twilight Zone, because that’s what the damn watch did to us all the time. I made him throw it away.

I can’t even be in the same house with a Ouija Board. Makes all the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Don’t even like to write the word.

But anyway, it’s that kind of uneasiness- usually a feeling that is followed shortly thereafter by the appearance of disembodied spirits. Haven’t seen one in some time.

Everybody weigh in, let me know you’re okay…

You watched that Walking Dead marathon, didn’t you? Or Doomsday Preppers?

I haven’t felt any otherworldly presence since moving out of a very old house I lived in while I was married more than ten years ago and I was glad as hell to be out of it. I can’t even imagine anyone voluntarily messing around with Ouija boards - nope, I barely made it through The Ring, that stuff is not for me.

    I hope everything’s okay. :(

  2. Oh good Barbara, somebody’s paying attention! You’re good. Phew! Um, no, but maybe I’m going through a Walking Dead withdrawal? I agree with you 100% on the Ouija Board!

  3. Luxie Ryder says:

    Hope you’re feeling ok now.

Your post made me smile actually because it reminded me of the time I decided to have the theme tune to Halloween as my ring tone. I loved it too…until I was sitting alone in my car at a set of traffic lights in the middle of nowhere at 3 in the morning and hubby decided to phone me. Spooky movie music is NOT a good idea when you’re surrounded by nothing but darkness! Freaked me right out, lol!

  4. Oh Luxie, how scary! Nope, none of that kind of music late at night! I’ll let you know when this yucky feeling dissipates.

I’m right there with you. I’ve had strange and disturbing dreams the last two nights. Nothing I can make any sense of, unfortunately, but enough to keep me from getting good sleep…and enough to leave me feeling off.

  6. Lorca Damon says:

I was always that really mean-spirited weird kid who would “sheepishly” agree to play Ouija board with you, then I would totally freak everyone out by making it spell scary shit. Fun times.

  7. Amber Skyze says:

I hope the feeling goes away and nothing bad occurs. :)

  8. Penelope says:

Maybe you’re about to have an earthquake? Do you have an earthquake radar?

I agree that you have Zombie Apocalypse on the brain. (me too)….and it causes disturbing dreams, thoughts and that niggling feeling in the back of your tasty brain that life as we know it is about to come to an end. (Which is high praise for that show, but bad for your peace of mind).

You need to watch some totally mindless movies (like Clueless), college basketball, listen to Britney Spears songs, and eat a taco salad. Then you’ll regain your equilibrium. And no more zombies! (until next fall anyway!)

Also, I’ll whip you into shape when you get to Boston. After spending 30 seconds with Natalie, you’ll realize that the entire universe revolves around her. :)

  9. Casey Wyatt says:

See? This is why I had to stop watching and reading about Zombies! They mess with my head. And I agree with Penny. Maybe you are feeling an earthquake vibe. Stay safe everyone!

  10. PJ Sharon says:

Hi Julia, I’m with you on the weird vibe. I’ve been having it for quite some time…like the past year or so. The advent of 2011 brought on a sudden urgency to things. Everyone started scurrying about like mice as if preparing for a long winter. I, who am usually, calm, cool, and balanced in life even jumped on board. I decided to indie publish last year about this time and my life has been one freight train ride since…so out of my character.

Time has also accelerated and since the beginning of 2012 has been zooming as if toward some imminent end. We are all in this warp speed thing that has everyone on edge and carrying this underlying tension. It’s palpable everywhere I go and despite my best efforts to buffer it and protect myself from it, I can still feel it. I’m pretty in tune with subtle, and not so subtle, energy shifts and we are in the midst of a big one. I’m not a doomsday sayer, but I do think our planet and our people are going through a major shift. Just looking up at the sky at night, I can see it. The way Venus and Jupiter are aligned and so incredibly bright. The strange weather patterns, storms, and global unrest. Even the numerology is weird. Have you noticed every time you write the date, it’s loaded with one’s, two’s, and three’s, and multiples of those numbers? It’s no wonder your getting a weird vibe. Hang in there, notice, observe, prepare, and ride the wave. You’re not alone!

  11. I do know people who, when they drive or walk down the street, experience street lights going out above them.

I agree with PJ Sharon. A few people out there are awake…listening to what their survival instincts are telling them. Bad stuff is coming-and I’m not talking about Zombies. It’s not popular to talk about it, but our country is in deep, deep trouble and even the most oblivious people are starting to feel uneasy. Your instincts are on target.

  13. Jaye says:

Maybe it’s the wind. It’s unsettling.

  14. No wind here, Jaye so that ain’t it. Don’t know…

  15. You know Anny, my concerns about the economic health of the country might be part of it, not to mention the GOP’s unhealthy fixation on women’s reproductive health.

  16. Sounds interesting, Steph. I have personally blown up four vehicles. Just by turning the key! You know I’ll come by your site to check out the book!

  17. Ah, PJ, thanks for coming by. I’ve been hoping 2012 would release the uneasy feeling I had all thru 2011. I was glad to kiss that year goodbye and I never say that. I don’t think the world is going to end in 2012, and even if it is, there’ no use worrying about it. But yeah, you may be onto something.

  18. Oh but Casey, zombies take my mind off all the other bad stuff! :)

  19. Penny, you’re right. I need to watch a few stupid movies. That oughta help! We’ve had a bunch of little quakes lately.

  20. Thank you, Amber. Me too!

  21. Oh Lorca - you have got to be careful with those Ouija boards. They can bite you in the ass!

  22. Hi Adam! I have had some weird ass dreams lately too! Totally weird and hard to interpret.

  23. Did you watch more zombies? Or maybe your sixth sense is kicking in….

  24. No, Savannah, no more zombies.

  25. Julianne says:

Ha! Now I understand…that explains everything, Julia. *wink* Nah, I’m glad you’re okay. I’m okay too.

  26. Julianne - you and me both, girl!

  27. Julianne, Thank you! Thank you very much.
I was doing just fine until I read this. Now, I am freaking out. HAHA! Sometime, that uneasy feeling could just be indigestion. What did you eat last night?
I hope everything turns out ok. Just keep us informed.

  28. Hi Sydney! My new favorite name since it’s the name of my heroine in my latest book! Um…hmmm. I don’t get indigestion. I think it’s just the stars or planets or or Jung’s collective unconsciousness. Today is better, thanks!

  29. I’ve been getting the weird vibe too. Probably because of all the unrest going on and the economic and ecological troubles. I don’t think there is any supernatural or other cause to the trouble though. These are problems that have been growing in our global culture (not to mention our domestic culture) for decades now. What we are seeing is the fruition of a lot of seeds sown years and years ago. And we’re only seeing the first fruits - unless something changes, things are going to get a lot worse.

…but then that’s just one guy’s opinion, haha.

  30. Yes, Andrew, a general sense of unease. You’re right, probably for many reasons.

  31. Tom Stronach says:

I was sitting here, at my desk, staring out the window on a foggy/sunny Essex morning thinking, ‘do some work, go on do it, you know your lords and masters in London Town will be happy if you do some work’ and then I thought ‘Nah, can’t be bothered’. Then I got this weird vibe that I had missed a post from you and lo and behold I had and this was it oh and a very pretty lady just walked past on the cctv and she was wearing a lovely frock and it was short and that distracted me and then I thought about you again and it was all so weird, that I think even although it is only 10 AM on a Friday morning that I need to put my feet up on the desk and close my eyes for half an hour or so just to recover, how weird a vibe is that….

    Lurv Ya xxx

  32. Yes, Tommy boy, you did miss a post, but I forgive you! A lovely short frock is a worthy distraction.

  33. Camilla says:

My husband has been feeling very creeped out the last few days. He says he can’t explain it, he always picks up feelings instantly from people. And lately he’s been really creeped out. He said something isnt making sense, like something is out of wack, like something is about to happen, something not good but something that’s suppose to happen. Take it as u will, but maybe it will help u.

  34. Thank you, Camilla! Actually that’s exactly the feeling I’ve had - like I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop! Come back and visit any time!
