I’m working on a project with Jaye Manus involving The Soul Series - Incorporeal, In the Flesh and Stay.
Part of my job is to re-proof each book. Obviously the books are already published, but we’re doing a little more with them. As you can see, we’re releasing a ‘special edition’.
I spent yesterday re-reading Incorporeal. I haven’t read it since before I published it. I have an unwritten rule - publish and move on to the next work.
Now that I have a little distance from the book I was able to read the story with fresh eyes. Wow. I was stunned to find myself crying, not only at the climax, but as I read several other scenes. I remembered exactly how the story came into being, the actual process of writing, but I forgot what an unlikely yet powerful love story Incorporeal is.
Whew. Gives me chills. If I didn’t know I wrote Incorporeal… well damn, I wouldn’t believe I wrote it.

It’s so delicious to read something and get that surprised feeling that you’ve written something so pleasing, so creative. Good for you for sharing. I also read your post Cry No More. So true. Sometimes, there’s no rhyme nor reason why an author is rejected. It’s timing or the particular bent of the agent or gatekeeper that morning or other forces beyond our control. I’m always heartened by those stories of authors who were overlooked and went on to make incredible sales. Now, I’m interested in checking out Incorporeal.
