Splat!

That was the sickening sound my laptop made when I dropped it onto the hardwood floor. Killed it. But I know a guy… He was able to save my data and upload it to this new el-cheapo computer. I’m kinda sick of buying new computers all the damn time because I break them so frequently. Computers and cell phones.

Sigh.

You think just once I’d buy the warranty. But hope springs eternal!

So anyway there’s this stinkin’ learning curve on this new computer and it has these annoying Windows 8 tendencies even though my guy was able to suppress the worst of them.

Busy resetting passwords, figuring out which programs I need to download, and catching up on email. I’ve been too busy to, well, to do much of anything besides be busy. But you know what? Without a computer I managed to clean out several closets and the wet bar we never use. Nice. I even got started on those three boxes of photographs waiting to be organized…

Maybe one of these days I’ll pick up the old ball and chain, uh, I mean WIP. Nice to be back! Julia

Lemonade outta lemons Julia……..and you are the person who fuckin should get the warranty. Especially for the cell phone. >^<

Our wet bar is used for storage. We’ve been talking about cleaning out all the junk behind it. I don’t want to break my laptop to get it done though. ;)
    Glad you’re back!

  3. Ugh - our state police have these heavy duty laptops or at least cases that can withstand all kinds of rough. hate setting up new computer stuff. Ugh

    So sorry about your computer.

Computers……..I have had a love/hate affair with computers since I first started using them.

Computers have replaced men in my life as the thing I most can’t live with nor without.

Hope your Life With Computers - I think I see a new Soap Opera here - soon settles down and life returns to normal.

Desktop, babe. Desktop. I know, I’m so retro, but laptops aren’t for the klutzy and I’m so mega-klutzy. Glad you’re back!

  6. The good news is the clean closets! Plus, now you’re on a new learning curve, which will be interesting. But at least you’re back in the game.

Welcome back, Julia. Maybe you should invest in warranties. I, myself, do not break computers, but I sure wear them out. My old desktop is whining and wheezing. I expect it to give up the ghost any day. And we won’t talk about the number of monitors I burn through (which is why I am currently using a wide-screen TV as a monitor-what a display!).

I couldn’t go a day without my computer(s). Which probably explains why my closets are such a mess…

  8. Hi all. Trying to get back in the swing of things but besides learning the new keyboard, which is made for people with short fingers while I have long fingers, I am super busy.
Jaye - you want me to come clean your closets??? I took 20 bags of clothes and shoes to the Salvation Army.
