Why Jennifer Lawrence?

Jennifer Lawrence.

Jennifer Lawrence.

Because, goddamn it, she shoulda won for Winter’s Bone!

Winters Bone.

Because she’s the next best thing.

Remember Sissy in Urban Cowboy? A movie I happen to think was vastly underrated. That was my first introduction to Debra Winger and I knew, I just knew I was watching the next best thing.

Well, that’s Jennifer Lawrence.

When my eyes are riveted on one person, stuck on a single on-screen presence, that actress or actor is beyond beyond.

It’s hard to believe she’s so young. I hope she remains cool and unaffected. Good for her!

  2. Diana Stevan says:

She is refreshing, isn’t she? I think we’re all gravitated to her honesty. Not an easy thing to convey as an actor. She just goes there and is in the moment, like she was when she accepted her Oscar. And she looked lovely. My husband said her dress looked like a comforter. I loved the dress! There were some gorgeous creations that night. Next life, I’m coming back as a star so I can wear one of those beautiful gowns. How about you, Julia?

  3. Ray Plasse says:

She is a terrific actress and does seem to have a good head on her shoulders. I kinda felt that way about Catherine Zeta-Jones and Sandra Bullock.

  4. Katalina Leon says:

I love her, she could go far.

  5. Hi all. Sorry I’m not responding but I’m not feeling well. Hopefully I’ll be much better by tomorrow. I liked her gown too, Diana. Very much. She is a breath of fresh air.

  6. Ray Plasse says:

    Just get better Julia.

  7. Sandra Cox says:

I know you’re not a Hunger Games fan, but she did an amazing job in it.

  8. She was great in Hunger Games, Sandra. I just oppose the werewolves!
