Still have a half-bushel of apples in the garage - the last of ‘em. Gotta make more apple butter today!

  1. I love this time of year when we can go to the garden and get fresh fruit and veggies. Our apples have about two weeks left to ripen. Just picked two cantelopes, yum.

  2. We’ve had lots of rain lately-plus the usual sunshine, too-and gardens everywhere are growing like crazy. My eggplant has at least another 10 days, but the color right now is a rich, stunning, ready-to-go-deep-purple. I love eggplant parmesan, but I have to admit that I plant eggplant for the soul-feeding colors.

  3. Marylin - I do love the color, but I like the eating too! You’ve had some great weather. Loved being in the Midwest a couple weeks ago.

  4. Cool, Stephanie! I tried to grow cantaloupe one year and failed miserably.

Damn! Now I gotta go to the market!!

Isn’t it nice to eat your own food? Hope the neighbours are harvesting the tomatoes while we’re away.

Beautiful Bounty. So colorful. So many great things to make. Are you going to be sharing any recipes or pictures of what you make with your bounty.

In any event, enjoy it. :)

    Jealous!

We got about a million peaches at the market yesterday. Today I am making peach crisp…yum! :)

  12. Ladies and gentleman - it is great! Did get my apple butter made.
