J.W. Manus demands my happy-pill blog posts.

Except I can’t take happy pills. All happy pills make me nauseated. Unfortunately.

Sharesies?

Blog Post Numero Uno: Knee Surgery Tomorrow. After that we’ll see how amusing I can be.

Hubs is renting me House of Cards! Yay! Get to watch Kate Mara be all bad.

I’ll probably re-watch Orphan Black for the sixteenth time! That’s right, you heard me, the sixteenth time! All ten episodes! I’m not ashamed to admit it.

And I’ll finish up War, by Sebastian Junger. Damn good book.

I might even treat you to some book reviews. And who knows? Maybe I’ll work on my top-secret WIP!

Maybe! Probably! Might even! Yeah okay but I’m not holding my breath Barrett.

  2. The complete Firefly, followed by the Serenity movie.

Make sure you leave with adequate pain pills - even if you decide not to use them, the middle of the night is not a good time to have to deal with it - and, in the hospital, the only people around can’t give you real stuff.

Other than that - I highly recommend watching Shaun of the Dead while high on painkillers.

  3. Man I wish, Alicia! I do have the entire set of Firefly DVDs and Serenity. But Wash…. Waaaaaa! I do love Shaun of the Dead. But unfortunately I can’t take pain pills. I’m allergic to some and others make me throw up. It’s such a tragedy. I miss out on all the fun.

  4. Good luck tomorrow - maybe you will get some happy pills then. Have Oscar post your success! Please.

  5. Good Ray. You keep me going. And you know Tom Stronach will speak Scots for me. That does it every time.

  6. Thank you lovely Steph. I don’t take happy pills. I wish I could. I’ll try to post. It will distract me.

  7. Roberta says:

May not be your cup of tea….but War and Peace is great, once you get past the first 200 pages. And if you want to do it the fast way and watch the movie, get the 6 hour Russian version. Only one that does the story justice.

If you want something a bit lighter, The Count of Monte Cristo is fantastic! Abridged of course.

Love story what you want?? The Thorn Birds is good too.

Tawdry you say. This should do: The Big Book of Scandal: Trashy but True Tales from the Tawdry World’s of Celebrity, High Society, Politics, and Big Business!

Good luck……prayers being sent your way.

Blessings and prayers for tomorrow and the days following. Will be thinking of you!

  9. Thank you, Anny. Much appreciated.

  10. Might try The Big Book of Scandal, Roberta. Read the others. I’ll reread Shogun as well. Thanks!

  11. Ray Plasse says:

Hey!!!!! how come I’m not lovely Ray????? Or ravishing Ray??? >^O

  12. Well, Ray, you are pretty ravishing. I’ve seen those Sports Illustrated Swim Suit spreads…

  13. Ray Plasse says:

That was a very dark period in my life!

  14. Jaye says:

Sigh, happy-pill postings would be way funnier than drunk postings. But…

Anyway, want something swoon-worthy to take your mind off your troubles? Get Frenchman’s Creek (the 1998 version) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0179817/

One of my faves. The book isn’t bad either. Some dame named Daphne Du Maurier wrote it. :D

  15. I’ll put it on my list, Jaye. Sorry about no happy pills. Too bad for me! ;)

  16. Amber Skyze says:

Good luck, Julia. Wishes for a speedy recovery. Happy pills make me sick too. :(

  17. Oh so sad, Amber! No happy pills for us! Darn! Thanks sweetie!
