My new favorite ‘found’ item!

I found this in a throw-away bin- one of the bins where we could toss our earthquake trash.

Look!

My two favorite cooks!

Look closer!

Can you believe it???

Can you believe it???

That’s what I saw when I opened the book the next day. I was so excited. I loved Julia Child. I always wanted her autograph but I never had the opportunity. Wow. Just… just wow!

Will I ever make one of the recipes? Who knows? Who cares? It’s enough to merely hold the book in my hot little hands. :)

  1. Roberta says:

I loved the TV shows the two did together. Pure Magic!!!!!

Who would ever throw away a treasure like that book? Dumb. Dumber. DUMBEST!

Their stupidity is your gain. How wonderful.

Sometimes life and the Universe give us what you want.

    Well deserved I might add.

  2. Jaye says:

Truly a treasure, Julia. It’s amazing to me that someone threw that out.

  3. I’d still be cooking from the Julia Child cookbooks that were part of our wedding presents if I could take all the carbs. Sigh.

She is a wonderful teacher and a good writer (don’t know if she needed a lot of editing, but the books I have are wonderful).

She taught me all the basics.

I’d say 1) you are blessed with this find, and 2) cook EVERYTHING in them at least twice.

  4. This cookbook doesn’t seem to be heavy on the carbs, Alicia. It’s mostly on how to prepare various meat dishes. Interesting appetizers, I must say. Few desserts. I haven’t yet decided if I want to use any of the recipes. Time-consuming for sure!

  5. I know, Jaye. I’m amazed! And I found it! That’s even more amazing. Guess the book was meant to be mine.

  6. I’ve seen them together on television too, Roberta. I do love them both! Plus Yan Can Cook. He’s so cool!
