It is scary to meet the people you’ve met online in real life. What if he’s an ax murderer, for instance? I mean, c’mon, you never know, do you? But when I met Tom online, and then I met his amazing wife, I knew he was a mensch. I had no doubt.
Our time with Tom and Ishbel was too brief, but we had so much fun. They are wonderful people, kind, loving, funny, smart and smart ass, generous. Wait, I forgot patient, kind, understanding… Their guest bedroom was the one place during the entire trip we got a good night’s sleep. (The bed is really comfortable.)
They live in such a beautiful wooded area. The scene in London is so lively. It’s like a major party town for all ages. Jersey Boys was fantastic - ‘Oscar’ and I sang songs from the show on our hikes. Tom and Ishbel navigated us through the maze that is the London Underground. Without them I guarantee we would have wandered for days. I’m not joking about this. We’d still be there, wandering.
So I’m trying to turn them into San Francisco Giants fans - see the pics! Oh, and I’ve thrown in one of hubby drinking beer on the street. Yeah, he did it. Notice the ad behind him.

It is scary to meet online friends (ahem).
I met another last week in Santa Monica and it was great fun.
And, meeting those online friends is usually fine. I think what is scarier is to visit with people you haven’t seen in a long time who may have become religious fanatics or ax murderers.
